Medical Insurance 

We offer two medical insurance plans to meet different needs and preferences. See below for details on each option and what they cover. 

Option 1: Ascend to Wholeness-WebTPA PPO  

Ascend to Wholeness (ATW) is a self-funded PPO plan that uses the Aetna PPO network which includes Loma Linda University Health. ATW offers two coverage options: Accelerate and Access. Accelerate provides richer benefits with lower out-of-pocket costs, but members must meet certain point requirements. Access does not require participation, but comes with higher out-of-pocket costs.

Option 2: Kaiser HMO  

Kaiser is an HMO and integrated healthcare system that provides and coordinates your full range of care.

Dental Insurance (Delta Dental) 

Delta Dental provides comprehensive dental insurance to help cover your preventive, basic, and major dental care needs.

Health Care Assistance Plan (HCAP) 

HCAP provides partial reimbursement for eligible hearing and vision care expenses you incur.

Chiropractic & Alternative Therapies 

Chiropractic and acupuncture benefits are available through both ARM and Kaiser plans. 

ARM Members 

  • No PPO network required 
  • Limit: 45 visits/year (max 30 per therapy) 
  • Covered Services: 
  • Chiropractic Services, limited to spinal manipulation after annual office visit and X-ray 
  • Acupuncture Therapy (must be age 18 or older) 

Kaiser Members 

Full Benefit Details  

  • Coverage through American Specialty Health (ASHN) ONLY 
  • 40 visits/year with $15 copay/visit

Flexible Spending Accounts (Health Equity) 

Set aside pre-tax dollars for health and dependent care expenses with a Flexible Spending Account. This is an optional, payroll deductible program.
